Minutes of the Stony Creek Association
Executive Board Meeting
June 3, 2003

A meeting of the Stony Creek Association Executive Board was called to order by President Peter Brainerd at Willoughby Wallace Memorial Library at 7:35 p.m. on Tuesday, June 3, 2003.

Present: Peter Brainerd, President, Marvin Zimmerman, Vice-President, Jake Greenvall, Tax Collector, Gregory Ames, Treasurer Board Members: Dorothy Leachman, Sandra Fischer, Dan Bullard, Joe Grandel, Jr., Nina Smith, clerk
Absent: Lucia Blanchard, Stan Fisher, Ron DeFord

Minutes: A motion was made/seconded and unanimously approved to accept the minutes of the May 6, 2003 meeting with the following corrections:

Police & Traffic: Michael Infantino got a call from Police Commissioner, Jack Mooney requesting a copy of the map of the changes to parking spaces and cross walks in Stony Creek.

Administration: A call will be made to engage the elections moderator. Nominee bio sheets were passed out to the board members at the meeting.

Treasurer’s Report: A copy of the Treasurer’s report was distributed:

Total cash on hand 4-1-03: $2,659.91
Total income: .98 (interest)
Total expenses: $ 179.38
Savings: Total cash on hand 6/1/03 $3,192.45 (General Fund $3,082.45, Ramshaw Memorial Fund $110.00.) .
Total Savings: $21,247.84 (interest paid $.00) – (General Fund $8,948.03, Sidewalks $9,123.26, Summer House $2,549.74, Open Space $626.81).
A motion was made/seconded and unanimously approved to file the Treasurer’s report for audit.

Bills: Motions were made/seconded and unanimously approved to pay the following bills:

Tax Collector: Jake Greenvall reported that all the taxes are paid. $246.22 was collected in interest for overdue taxes.

Legal & Zoning: One request at 18 Prospect Hill to replace garage and part of a porch. No action.

Police & Traffic: Dan had a meeting with Janice from Public Works to go over the map of the changes to parking spaces and crosswalk in Stony Creek and was given indications that work would be done within a few weeks. Joe, Mike or Dan will try to be there when the work is being done.

Maintenance: Sandy reported that roads and sidewalks work is two to three weeks behind. Public Works will black top sidewalk by the cemetery. They said, No to repairing sidewalks from School Street to Rextile Road at this time. Sandy will try to find a kid to clean Indian Point Road. It could be that we will have to pay someone to do this job. She will stay on top of getting more port-a-potties and move the one by the beach to go under the pines.

Administration: President’s letter is ready to be mailed. Peter wrote the letters requested at the last meeting. A motion was made and seconded to reimbursed Peter for $139.50 for the “Children at Play” sign. Peter will talk to Gail Ferris and ask that she check with him and get an O.K. before doing work. He will also discuss with Gail about planting and maintaining the Lewis Memorial Triangle.

Old Business: None

New Business: A letter was received from the Stony Creek Fife and Drum Corps., asking for participation in restoring and preserving Seaside Hall.
A motion was made and seconded to add $700.00 pledge to Public Archeology Survey Team to the bill for payment. It was previously approved to donate this amount for the completion of the National Register nomination for Stony Creek Quarry, Branford, Ct.

Other Business: None
A motion was made/seconded and unanimously approved to adjourn the meeting at 8:47 p.m.
