Minutes of the Stony Creek Association
Executive Board Meeting
June 7, 2005

A meeting of the Stony Creek Association Executive Board was called to order by President Peter Brainerd at Willoughby Wallace Memorial Library at 7:40 p.m. on Tuesday, June 7, 2005.

Present: Peter Brainerd, President, Marvin Zimmerman, Vice-President, Gregory Ames, Treasurer, Jake Greenvall, Tax Collector, Dottie Leachman, Stan Fisher, Berclee Cameron, Dan Bullard, Ron DeFord, Sandy Fischer, David Baker, Nina Smith, Clerk.

Absent: Bob Babcock

Minutes: A motion was made/seconded and unanimously approved to accept the minutes of the April 5, 2005 meeting with the following correction, under old business, only people hooked-up will pay sewer assessment this will be offset by taxes approximately 4%.

Tax Collector: Three outstanding tax bills, liens will be placed.

Legal & Zoning: 340 Leetes Island Rd. variance on a accessory structure and height variance. No action taken.

Police & Traffic: Painting parking spaces at the dock and beach end will be done at night. Curbing will be put in at the dock on June 8, 2005. Crosswalks will be repainted. Sign in front of the Post Office should be moved to reflect the yellow paint strip on curbing. The sign at Squaw Brook Rd. should be replaced.( South side.) Peter will install signs, with help, Yield to Pedestrian signs.

Maintenance: Rec. Dept.
1. Alex promises to have buoys and sand before June 19th. Sand held up due to horseshoe crab egg laying.
2. Parks are well cared for.
3. Porta potties were delivered.

Public Works
1. Ed. Massotta met and reviewed lines at the dock areas.
2. Sidewalks are done.
3. Grant for benches has not been decided, eight in summer house will be included, flag pole???
4. No information on stone columns at fountain or drain at Post Office.
5. Some side streets will get some paving done.
6. Waste-Regular-collection is finally O.K.
7. Request money for replacing flowers. Motion was made/seconded and unanimously approved up to $50.00 for flowers.
8. Stan has not heard anything about grant for bathrooms.
9. Stan commended St. Therese Church Group for their work done on the home at the corner of Thimble Islands Rd. and Boyhay Hill.
10. It was observed that a Parent stopped their vehicle and allowed the children to write their names in the newly repaired cemented sidewalk.

Administration: Bio’s for Board members are done. Kathy DaRos has been contacted for the election.


Old Business: None

Other Business: A resident placed a concern about the noise level, music and the alcoholic beverages at Bayview Park. The sign is posted that the park closes at dusk, however people still use the park after that.
After some discussion, the resident was advised to make the Park & Rec. Dept. aware of this problem. A request was made to change the timer on the lights at the park to be turned off at 9:00. The Board will note the neighbors concerns with the individuals using the park in an inappropriate manner. It was recommended that residents should attend a Police Commissioners meeting with their concerns and complaints. This meeting to be held on Monday, 6/13/05 at 7:30 p.m. A motion was made/seconded and unanimously approved for President Peter Brainerd to write a letter to the Police Commissioner concerning Bayview Park.

Residents and neighbors of Bayview Park would like to know the plans for the toilets in the park. Stan went over the plans that were submitted for the grant. Some residents had some concerns about the size and scale of the building, requesting that the project be made smaller. It was stated that this project was in the best interest of all the residents of the village.

A motion was made/seconded and unanimously approved to adjourn the meeting at 9:12 P.M.
