Executive Board Meeting
July 10, 2007

A meeting of the Stony Creek Association Executive Board was called to order by President Peter Brainerd at Willoughby Wallace Memorial Library at 7:35 p.m. on Tuesday, July 10, 2007.

Present: Peter Brainerd-President. Marvin Zimmerman-Vice-President, Gregory Ames- Treasurer, Jake Greenvall- Tax Collector, Bob Babcock, Dottie Leachman, Stan Fisher, Dan Bullard, Ron DeFord, Sandy Fischer, Michael Infantino, David Baker, Nina Smith- Clerk.

Minutes: A motion was made/seconded and unanimously approved to accept the minutes of the June 5, 2007 meeting with the following corrections: Under Maintenance #7 only mulch was donated and #9 should read, as work is completed. Under Police and Traffic, David Baker and Comm. Gott walked the area from Howd Ave. to Leetes Isld. Rd. to assess the signage needed to Quarry Road.

A motion was made/seconded and unanimously approved to pay the P.O. Box rental when due.

A motion was made/seconded and unanimously approved to move $5000.00 from the General fund to the sidewalk account.

A motion was made/seconded and unanimously approved to set the mill rate at 8.6 cents per $1,000.00.

A motion was made/seconded and unanimously approved to leave the Committees the same this year as last with the same chairperson.

A motion was made/seconded and unanimously approved for Marvin Zimmerman to be Vice-President.

A motion was made/seconded and unanimously approved for Nina Smith to be Clerk.

Tax Collector: All taxes have been paid.

Legal & Zoning: Variance on 21 Wallace Rd. for a deck. No action to be taken.

Police & Traffic: 1. Parking and traffic issues are still on going on Linden Point Rd.
2. Mirror for Squaw Brook Rd. has been approved
3. Dan and Michael will contact Bob Gott concerning parking at the Dock. Additional signage is needed as well as road painting indicating, “ NO PARKING”.
4. Leo has asked Landscapers to keep the traffic moving at the ramp. The traffic has been a big problem on the weekends.
5. Crosswalk lines will be repainted near the Library.
6. Sachem Road needs an arrow to indicate the crosswalk sign.

Maintenance:
1. A motion was made/seconded and unanimously approved to give Sandy Fischer $100.00 to be used for a Pine Tree and plants around the Lewis Memorial Triangle.
2. A motion was made/seconded and unanimously approved that Peter will write a letter to the Park and Rec. Dept. concerning the amount of use of the Handi houses. They need to be cleaned more often. Copy letter to East Shore Health, First Selectman and Tourism.
3. There is a need at the dock for a ladder on the North side of the Summer House. An individual fell into the water and because there was no ladder on this side it was difficult to get the person out of the water.

Administration: Peter received a letter form Paul E. Carlson asking to use the Gazebo for a wedding. It can be used as long as the person leaves the Gazebo as they found it. Decorations, if any, must be removed after the function is over. A motion was made/seconded and unanimously approved to allow Paul E. Carlson the use of the Gazebo.

Peter also received a letter from a resident of 37 Prospect Hill concerning the poor condition of the road on Thimble Islands Road. Peter will reply to the letter.

Old Business: A Kayak launch is still under consideration near the Trolley Bridge. Parking will be available at the Ball Lot. Signage will be posted to indicate the launching area for Kayaks has moved to the Trolley Bridge. More to follow.

New Business: Resident asked: Is there an ordinance on the noise in a residential area? Yes there is, the ordinance needs to be passed.

A motion was made/seconded and unanimously approved to adjourn the meeting at 9:10P.M.
