Minutes of the Stony Creek Association
Executive Board Meeting
August 2, 2005

A meeting of the Stony Creek Association Executive Board was called to order by Vice-President Marvin Zimmerman at Willoughby Wallace Memorial Library at 7:35 p.m. on Tuesday, August 2, 2005.

Present: Marvin Zimmerman, Vice-President, Dottie Leachman, Stan Fisher, Berclee Cameron, Dan Bullard, Bob Babcock, Sandy Fischer, Michael Infantino, Nina Smith, Clerk.

Absent: Peter Brainerd, Gregory Ames, Jake Greenvall, David Baker

Public: 0

Minutes: A motion was made/seconded and unanimously approved to accept the minutes of the July 12, 2005 meeting with the following corrections: Berclee Cameron e-mail to read: berclee@yahoo.com and one (1) person attended the July meeting. Under Other Business, a request by the public to replace bench near the sidewalk at Bayview Park. Delete the motion made/seconded and unanimously approved to elect Peter Brainerd.

Tax Collector: No report

Legal & Zoning: Variance at 11 Long Point Rd., request to rebuild house on same foot print.

Police & Traffic: Parking issues on Indian Point Road. Construction trucks with ladders were parked away from the curbing and were protruding into the street. Parking signs were not reinstalled after line painting. Compact car signs not needed where they are. Replace Thimble Islands Rd. sign at the end of the street. Put sign on north end of 15 min. parking at the Post Office. The signs for School St., Wallace Rd., and Long Point Rd. have been ordered.

Maintenance: Peg Hall ordered the cigarette extinquisher for the dock. Alex Palluzzi put one buoy in the water today and will order two more. Ed Massota will be asked to give the SCA the money that the town pays for three street signs.
Gov. Jodi Rell will be in Stony Creek on Aug. 3, 2005 to award some Grants. One grant is for the Seaside Hall and one for the benches at the Stony Creek Dock.
The drain at the post office will be fixed when the roadway repaving is done on Thimble Isls. Rd. Larry Fisher, land surveyor, is working on the sidewalk for Thimble Isls. Rd. The bollards will be fixed at the Lewis Memorial Triangle by Andy DaRos.
Letters will be sent out to the following residents at these addresses to cut back foliage over hanging the public sidewalks:

468 Leetes Isls. Rd.
474 Leetes Isls. Rd.
1 Bowhay Hill
What do you do when a resident has more than one unregistered vehicle in their yard? Suggested to all the Zoning Enforcement agency.
The road that was unfinished at the Stony Creek Boating Association needs to be completed by the Riccio Const. Co. It is a hazard to leave it unfinished and is a liability for the town.
A used leaf blower is being donated by Stan Fisher to be used by those individuals hired to clean up Stony Creek in the designated public areas.
Dan Bullard will write a letter to the National Carting Co. about the extra step they take in cleaning up around the public trash receptacles.



Administration: The Annual Stony Creek Neighborhood Tag Sale is held the first Saturday after Labor Day. The date is September 10, 2005. The cost will be about $100.00 to be put the ad in the New Haven Register, the Branford Review and the Sound newspapers. A motion was made/seconded and unanimously approved to put the ad in the newspapers for the tag sale.
