A meeting of the Stony Creek Association Executive Board was called to order by President- Dan Bullard at Willoughby Wallace Memorial Library at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 2, 2008.

Minutes: A motion was made/seconded and unanimously approved to accept the minutes of the August 5, 2008 meeting with the following corrections: Under Maintenance-buying 2 (two) trees for Madeira Park.

Tax Collector: 86% taxes have been collected.
Legal and Zoning: Variance on East Crib Island for a new septic system and tear down house and rebuild.
Police and Traffic: Cars that have been parking illegally have been ticketed. Commission is considering going up on the tickets. Undecided on what to do about commercial stickers. Motion was made/seconded and unanimously approved to table this matter. Camera has been installed and is working. Signs at Madeira Park have been removed for corrections. No was added to ‘No Dogs Allowed On The Beach’ sign. Dan received an E-mail from John Opie concerning the paving of Thimble Island Rd. suggesting the members of the Association walk Stony Creek and map out parking spaces and street signs. Lisa and Michael will do this. Thimble Islands Road is going to be widened. A sidewalk is going to be installed on the beach side from crosswalk to crosswalk. A motion was made/seconded and unanimously approved to remove the signs at 4 Indian Point Rd. and 124 Thimble Islands Rd. A sign is needed on Linden Point Rd.-No Parking On This Side.
Maintenance:
The flag pole on the Memorial Green will be painted.
Wood chips will be put down in the play area at Bayview Park in the Spring.
Three bids will be gotten for the electrical work at Bayview Park.
Buoys will remain in the beach area due to the nice weather.
Repair of the benches to be completed soon.
Letter of appreciation from the Association to Peg Hall and The National Carting Co. on the good job done this year. Copy to Unk at the Town Hall. Ron will write this letter of thanks.
A motion was made/seconded and unanimously approved to purchase two (2) trees for Madeira Park. Placement of the trees will be marked out.
Ron will write a letter to the company handling the Port O Potties. When they are called for cleaning, they come right away.
A motion was made/seconded and unanimously approved for Stan to resubmit the letter for the Grant. This is the Grant for the permanent bathrooms.
Administration: 1. Letters will go out to those residents that need to cut back the foliage
obstructing the sidewalks.
2. Tax letter to go into the mail.
Old Business: Post Office has a year’s lease with the owner of the building. The parking lot
has been leased already.
New Business: Invitations to bid on the snow removal will be posted at the Post Office and the WW Library. There was an emergency on Governors Island for someone in need of medical help. There was no one to run the Fire Boat. With great concern, the Fire Dept. will discuss this situation at their next meeting.
A motion was made/seconded and unanimously approved to adjourn the meeting at 9:05 P.M.
