Police & Traffic: Traffic flowed well over the Labor Day Holiday and the pedestrian signs were a big hit and seemed to slow the traffic down. The Dock Master, Leno, has also been a big hit, very friendly and will talk to people. People will pay the parking ticket at $25.00 just to be able to park. A motion was made/seconded and unanimously approved to have Dan speak with the Police Commissioner about raising the parking tickets to $50.00.
The Dock Master patrols the area from the Stony Creek Market to the Dock.
Traffic has been slow at times at the dock, due to loading and unloading of vehicles. The zones for loading and unloading of a vehicle will not be set until the paving is done. All good and bad comments concerning the Dock Master should be directed to the First Selectman, John Opie who the Dock Master reports to.
See attached letter on Leno’s Observations and Recommendations re: Parking in the Creek 9-7-04.
A question came up about putting a pedestrian sign on the cornor of Leetes Island Rd. and School St., but it was noted that Leetes Island Rd. is a state highway.
Members of the Thimble Island Association attended the meeting. Tom Pallon, from Governors Island and is the Presidents of the association and Cynthia & Alison Sheppard from Money Island. Tom Pallon stated that the new lines and the signage at the dock have been very good. Also, stated that in the past because of lack of lines on the road and signs that they encountered parking problems.

Maintenance:
1. Jake and Sandy met with Ed Masotta re: finishing dock, parking lines, Madiera Park and the drainage.
Dock: The area will be paved this fall, drainage needs to be solved, slurry put where the road has collapsed and the lining will be redone. Problem areas for parking will be addressed at the end where only two handicapped spaces will be designated, near boating association, where a space needs to be eliminated, and the roadway extended sideways to facilitate parking to allow cars to pass.
Madiera Park: the town will remove posts and cables along the park and in front of the beach. The town will be responsible for the installation of the curbstones if the Association finds curbstones. Contacted the manager at the quarry for firm price on curbstones.

Drain: Post Office drain will be done in the fall.

Benches at the Dock: Ed Masotta will write a grant to help pay for the four benches.
