Tax Collector: Taxes are being paid.
Legal & Zoning: No variances.
Police & Traffic: A letter will go out to the Police Commissioner requesting that a white line be painted on Eastern part of TIR, below the four corners as a stop gap measure. A notice should be placed in the town bulletin requesting residents who have off street parking to parking in their driveways, etc. This will assist maintenance in clearing the snow during snow storms. Notices could also be placed in the Stony Creek Market, Marine & Cuisine and the Post Office.
Maintenance:
1 Letters were sent out to residents on TIR and School Street stating that a one time edging and cutting shrubs would be done.
2. Nina and Jake will have a meeting with Jay Brown concerning the way the job . was done on the sidewalks. The committee felt that the job
was not done to their satisfaction.
3. Nina will list the five properties that need the hedges cut back and give the list to Michael.
4. Any trimming not done by the first of the year, the Association will take action and cut back the hedges 6 inches from the sidewalk side.
Administration: Peter spoke to First Selectman John Opie concerning the dock area and the side walks on TIR. The money is in the budget for completion of the Stony Creek Dock. The ideal solution for the sidewalk on TIR would be to extend the sidewalk on the same side of the road. The question is would CL& P move the telephone poles? This needs to be looked into further.
Old Business: Ron DeFord addressed the letter from the Pine Orchard Association on the town-wide revaluation. A motion was made and seconded to have Ron investigate the statistical basis of the letter and see if that applies to Stony Creek and prepare a letter if it does.
New Business: Public Bathrooms. A grant from the Tourism Budget may cover the construction of this project but not the maintenance. Will the Town take care of the maintenance of the Public Restrooms?
Other Business: Dottie Leachman will write a thank you note to Richard Kikosicki for the Christmas tree. Peter read a letter from Wayne Jacobson informing residents of the Christmas Pageant on Dec. 20 from 6 to 8 o’clock. A thank you will also go out to Marilyn Anderson for alterations done on the Santa Claus suit.
A motion was made/seconded and unanimously approved to adjourn the meeting at 9:50.
Respectfully submitted,
Susan M. Torre
Secretary
