Executive Board Meeting
October 6, 2009

A meeting of the Stony Creek Association Executive Board was called to order by President- Dan Bullard at Willoughby Wallace Memorial Library at 7:32 p.m. on Tuesday, October 6, 2009.

Present: Dan Bullard- President, Marvin Zimmerman-Vice-President, Greg Ames-Treasurer, Jake Greenvall-Tax Collector, David Baker, Ron DeFord, Ted Ells, Michael Infantino, Maura Page, Betsy Wieland, Pam Rackliffe.

Absent: Bob Babcock, Lisa Carlin

A motion was made/seconded and unanimously approved to pay the Police Dept for Police Coverage of the Stony Creek Tag Sale. An exception was made, will be authorized at the next meeting.

Note: A discussion can be done by E-mail but cannot be voted on.

A motion was made/seconded and unanimously approved to allow the President to pay a bill up to $500.00 but only in an “Urgent Situation.”.

Minutes: A motion was made/seconded and unanimously approved to accept the minutes of September 1, 2009.

Treasurer’s Report: A motion was made/seconded and unanimously approved to ratify the Treasurer’s Report and to pay the election workers. A copy of the Treasurer’s Report was distributed:

Tax Collector: 90% collected, second notices going out.

Legal and Zoning: No new variances. Legal and Zoning meeting to be held to change the zoning on Gould Lane.

Police and Traffic: A list of things the committee would like to do on Thimble Isls. Rd.
• Paint no parking curb on the west side of Thimble Isls. Rd. north from West Point Rd. to the “ No Parking Here to Corner” sign.
• Paint no parking curb on the west side of Thimble Isls. Rd. south from Halls Point Rd. for about ½ car length.
• Reinstall the “No Parking” sign on the curve opposite the Stony Creek Market.
• Paint no parking curb on the new bump-out in front of the beach.
• Paint no parking curb on the east side of Thimble Isls. Rd. from the beach crosswalk in front of the Church south for 3 feet.

• Add to “15 Minute Parking” sign in front of the post office the following time limits: Mon thru Fri 8AM to 5PM and Sat 8AM to 12PM Except Holidays.
• On the west side of Thimble Isls Rd. beside the monument triangle paint a no parking strip on the road from Halls Point Rd. north 25 feet.
• On the west side of Thimble Isls. Rd. beside the fountain paint a no parking strip on the road the full length of the triangle.
• School buses and Tour buses have been parking on Halls Pt. Rd. and leaving the motor running. Need –“No Bus Parking” sign.
• Change signs on the dock for weekend parking.
• A motion was made/seconded and unanimously approved to send this list to Ed Massotta and cc: First Selectman, Police Chief and Police Commissioner.


Maintenance: 1. Curbing at Madeira Park has been completed. DaRos & Co. did a good job.
2. Sink hole in Madeira Park needs to be filled in.
3. Boy Scouts repaired the benches with new boards. They will be painted in the Spring.
4. Dan will send out a” Thank You” note to the Boy Scouts for their good work.
5. The tree at the Memorial Triangle needs some attention.
6. A call needs to be made more often to the company that owns the Port-a-Potties to keep them pumped out.
7. Dan has been in touch with Tom Coville concerning the sale of the Stony Creek Post Office. Discussions are on going.


Administration: A “Thank You” note will go out to Peg Hall for the good job of trash pick up this year. cc to Unk DaRos.

Old Business: Is there any up-date to the Cell Tower issue? Pam and Dan will request a meeting with Unk concerning the Cell Tower to be installed in Stony Creek.

New Business: A second request has been made to bid on the Snow Plowing Contract.

A motion was made/seconded and unanimously approved to adjourn the meeting at 9:22 P.M.
