Executive Board Meeting
January 6, 2009

A meeting of the Stony Creek Association Executive Board was called to order by President- Dan Bullard at Willoughby Wallace Memorial Library at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 6, 2009.

Present: Dan Bullard- President, Marvin Zimmerman-Vice-President, Gregory Ames- Treasurer, Jake Greenvall-Tax Collector, Dottie Leachman, Sandy Fischer, Bob Babcock, David Baker, Lisa Carlin, Ron DeFord,

Absent: Stan Fischer, Michael Infantino, Ted Ells

Minutes: A motion was made/seconded and unanimously approved to accept the minutes of the December 2, 2008 meeting.

Bills: Motions were made/seconded and unanimously approved to pay the following bills:

Tax Collector: Final notices mailed to delinquent members.

Legal and Zoning: None in Stony Creek.

Police and Traffic: First Selectman DaRos and Ed Massotta cleared most of the concerns on paving. Some work will have to wait due to the weather.

Maintenance:
1. There is a 24 hr. grace period for plowing the sidewalks. Some areas were not done immediately due to the narrowing of the sidewalk. Property owners need to be aware that they are responsible for the sidewalks adjacent to their property.
2. Bike racks have been painted.
3. Slats have been ordered for the park benches at the beach.
4. Suggestion of flower planters for the beach.

Administration: 1. E-mail is operating. About 140 members have signed up.

Old Business: None

New Business: 1. Question of : Should we be more aware of what maintenance the town is
going to do before it is done?
2. Sandy spoke about the importance of having a Commission here in Stony
Creek.
3. Working on the Grant from the State for the Toilets.
4. Looking into removing the black top at the beach and possibly replacing it
with cobblestone.
5. Forming a volunteer Committee to work with Mr. Gallant to replant the
area around the sign on Thimble Islands Rd.
6. Tree at Bayview Park.
a. A notice was placed on the tree that it was going to be removed.
b. Dan Bullard received a letter from Larry Dvorsky concerning the tree
in question.
c. Ed Massotta gave the procedures to follow for protesting the removal
of the tree. 1. Formal letter of protest. 2. Set up a hearing. 3. Legal
notice in the newspaper of the hearing.
7. Bill Towers had a Proposal concerning the care of the Tree at Bayview
Park.
1. Help the current tree for long life.
2. Will fund for 3 yrs. for tree service care.
3. Someone has offered to address the girdling roots of the tree.
A motion was made/seconded and unanimously approved to request the tree in question be kept and not interfered with. A letter from Mr. Towers outlining his plan will be sent to First Selectman DaRos.

Dan Bullard thanked Bill Towers for his support and providing the means for the care of this tree.

A motion was made/seconded and unanimously approved to adjourn the meeting at 8:55 P.M.
