Executive Board Meeting
September 1, 2009

A meeting of the Stony Creek Association Executive Board was called to order by President- Dan Bullard at Willoughby Wallace Memorial Library at 7:37 p.m. on Tuesday, September 1, 2009.

Present: Dan Bullard- President, Marvin Zimmerman-Vice-President, Greg Ames-Treasurer, Jake Greenvall-Tax Collector, Bob Babcock, David Baker, Lisa Carlin, Ron DeFord, Ted Ells. Michael Infantino, Maura Page, Betsy Wieland.

Absent: Fern Berman

A motion was made/seconded and unanimously approved to allow First Selectman Unk DaRos to explain what Amtrak is planning for the installation of the Cell Towers on the Branford Line. The tower that is most concerning for Stony Creek is the one to be installed on the Fire House. Would it block the existing overhead door? Will the neighbors to the Fire House have access to their property? Will the height of the tower be a problem? A meeting will be scheduled to go over the plan with the residents of Branford. All are encouraged to attend.

A motion was made/seconded and unanimously approved to send a letter to the First Selectman Unk DaRos with the concerns about the Cell Towers being installed on the Amtrak line in Branford.

Minutes: A motion was made/seconded and unanimously approved to accept the minutes of August 4, 2009.

Treasurer’s Report: A motion was made/seconded and unanimously approved to ratify the Treasurer’s Report and to pay the election workers. A copy of the Treasurer’s Report was distributed:

Legal and Zoning: Variance on 474 Leetes Islands Rd. – No action

Police and Traffic: Michael Infantino stated that it will cost $3,000.00 to install a speed bump near the Memorial Fountain. A letter needs to be sent to the Police Commissioner requesting that a Stop Sign be installed. Discussion is on going about changing the one way traffic back to a two way traffic street near the Memorial Green. These concerns will be put into a letter to the Police Commissioner.

Maintenance: Lisa has been checking the collection bins. The collection service has been doing a good job. The company that services the Port-a- Potties will come when they are telephoned for service. A resident was contacted and they will trim their hedge. Committee members will survey the condition of the sidewalks. The life guards have kept the beach clean with Maura’s encouragement.


Administration: Fern Berman has been unable to fulfill her obligation on the board due to other commitments therefore Pam Rackliffe will be contacted to service out her term. The SCA minutes have not been posted on the Library web site. This needs to be looked into.

Old Business: The Stony Creek Tag Sale will be held Sept. 12, 2009. Michael will look into getting “Emergency No Parking” signs for the day. No update on the Post Office.

New Business: The buoys at the beach will be removed by the Rec. Dept on Sept 15, 2009.

A motion was made/seconded and unanimously approved to adjourn the meeting at 9:15 P.M.
