February 5, 2002

A meeting of the Stony Creek Association Executive Board was called to order by President Peter Brainerd at The Church of Christ at 7:33pm on Tuesday, February 5, 2002.

Present: Peter Brainerd, President; Gregory Ames, Treasurer; Jake Greenvall, Tax Collector; Board Members: Lucia Blanchard, Daniel Bullard, Stan Fisher, Sandra Fischer, Dorothy Leachman, John Opie, Nina Smith, Clerk, Jonathan Waters, Marvin Zimmerman, Vice-President

Absent: Ron DeFord

Minutes: A motion was made/seconded and unanimously approved to accept the minutes of January 8th meeting as corrected, changing "Tough" to "Though" on the 9th line under Police & Traffic.

Treasurer’s Report: A copy of the Treasurer’s report was distributed

Total cash checking: $7637.57 (General Fund $7271.57; Ramshaw Memorial Fund 366.00)

Total income November: $660.16 ($7.57 interest, $652.59 Other)

Total expenses November: $2088.16

Total Cash CD: $20,539.365 (General Fund 8,649.69, Sidewalks 8,819.04, Summer House 2,464.72, Open Space 605.91)

A $117.42 check is on hand from Tax Collector to be deposited.

A motion was made/seconded and unanimously approved to file the Treasurer’s report for audit.

Bills: A motion was made/seconded and unanimously approved to pay the following bills:

DaRos & Co (Ramshaw Memorial) $ 256.00

DaRos & Co (snow removal) 225.50

CL&P (lighting and electricity) 23.68

TOTAL $505.18

Tax Collector: No Report.

Legal & Zoning: No new requests for variances.

Maintenance: Sandy reported that drainage repairs at 309 Thimble Islands Road are complete. Sidewalks have not been started though she in constant contact with Ed Masotta. Peg Hall has the trash pickup in the dock area working properly again.

Work on dock was to have started Feb 1st. A motion was made, seconded and unanimously approved for the Treasurer to cut a check for $600, payable to Town of Branford, and send it to Town Hall with a notation that it is to be for our share of the Engineering Study for Indian Point Road utility line burial. Purchase orders have been written by the Town to CL&P and SNET.

Police and Traffic: Friday Feb1st, Wayne Cooke brought a full-sized BIG bus with the company's "best drivers" to the dock area to test getting it around the triangle and completely failed on two attempts. The recommended allowable size for the wheelbase is 200" or less. We will attend the Police Commissioners meeting of February 11th if we are on the agenda.

Administration: Peter read his beletter to Daphne Balacos a letter thanking her for her gift to the community of secretary \services during the summer months. A motion was made, seconded and unanimously approved to send her a bouquet of flowers as well up to $35.00. Joanne will be asked to put in another reminder for the sale of old street signs is slow. In honor of Wayne Jacobson a motion was made, seconded and unanimously approved to write a letter of recognition to be presented to Wayne at the Hat's Off party. The upcoming budget was reviewed and a motion was made, seconded and unanimously approved to adopt a budget for the fiscal year 2002-2003 as calculated totaling $24,405. 2nd notice of 2002 census has been received and will be completed. Joanne will be asked to place another reminder of the old street signs for sale in her column.
