In addition, a motion was made, seconded and approved to pay Gail Ferris up to $150 for a bill submitted, but not on hand.

Tax Collector: Taxes still trickling in which is normal.

Gas Pipeline: Peter spoke with Penny Bellamy, Town Attorney and she recommended that we not file as interveners but write a letter stating who we are, what we do, and supporting the Town of Branford and the Juniper Point Association’s opposition and arguments plus those of our own. Peter will do so.

Legal and Zoning: No report.

Police and Traffic: Police commissioners are hammering out the legality of the bus sign. Tour boat operators are looking into a small bus/trolley for 40 people for a shuttle of their own. “No Parking” signs need to be reviewed come Spring as they are not terribly comprehensible.

Maintenance: A letter will be sent to 3 Prospect Hill Road regarding overgrown hedges covering STOP sign. Sidewalk work is expected to be completed by November. Drainage on side streets has begun. Work at the four corners is on hold. Masotta will look at the drainage situation on the curve across from the Stony Creek Market that ices over in the winter. Stan did not get a sketch of the gazebo plan, but seats are to be similar to those in the Summer House with seats and backs made of mahogany and pressure-treated wood for undercarriage and anchors. A motion was made, seconded and approved accepting the quote for the benches from Rene Arbour for $1875. Stan will reiterate our needs concerning height (on the low side with children and small adults in mind) and comfort. Stan will get a price from Empire Paving for Leetes Island Road sidewalks. Nina will place an ad for snow removal and add “The contractor is responsible for supplying adequate equipment to do the job” to the snow removal contract. Re the town dock, John reported that the drawings will be done by November 1st and the bid package will go out early November.

Administration: The committee will give Joanne info for the Stony Creek Column on our need for a secretary to do the minutes.

Old Business: Since the grant deadline for application to Northeast Utilities for their Community Environmental Grant is October 15th the board will not apply now but will try for the April 15th deadline. Ron will get more information about other applications.

New Business: None.

A motion was made/seconded and unanimously approved to adjourn the meeting at 8:42pm.

Respectfully Submitted,

Nina N. Smith

Secretary
