Legal and Zoning: No new applications for variances.
Police and Traffic: Peter noted that Mr. Mooney requested that he and Chief Gill be put on the agenda the December meeting to discuss their ideas for a solution to the bus problem. Sandy reported that Wayne Cooke made application to Planning & Zoning to open a pavilion at Hilltop Orchards for clam bakes in conjunction with the tour busses and boats.
Maintenance: Stan Fischer reported that the Ramshaw memorial is in place and looks great. Empire Paving’s quote for an approximately 905 foot by 4 foot wide, one-course overlay of compacted bituminous concrete from the eastern edge of cemetery to just west of School Street is $7,700. Letters need to be written for the following: vegetation overhanging sidewalks to: 468-472 Leetes Island Road (multiple saplings); hedges at 180 Thimble Islands Road overhanging the sidewalk; new hedges at 184 Thimble Islands Road which have been planted up to the sidewalk and should be moved back as they will shortly be a problem; hedges at the corner of Prospect Hill and TIR obstructing the stop sign and visibility were also brought up. Nina will write letters. Rene Arbours hope to start work on the benches in the gazebo at Bayview Park within a few weeks. Sandy noted that LOCIP money comes into town in February and we may be able to use some of it for sidewalks. John Opie will talk to Masottta about extending the sidewalk on Thimble Islands Road up to the four corners. Sandra reported that most of the new street signs are up. An additional sign is needed for Stony Creek Road.
Administration: Two snow removals bids were received. A motion was made, seconded and unanimously approved to accept the lowest bid from DaRos Co. Inc.
Old Business: None
New Business: Nina had arranged to buy bookcases from the library for $90 but we will not to be able to pick them up until after the asbestos is removed from the building. Census Survey received and needs to be filled out. Here was an article in the Nov/Dec issue of Preservation Magazine
A motion was made/seconded and unanimously approved to adjourn the meeting at 8:20 pm.
Respectfully Submitted,
Nina N. Smith
Secretary
