Tax Collector: All taxes paid.

Legal and Zoning: No report.

Police & Traffic: John noted that he discussed moving the time-limit sign at post office with Ed Masotta and faxed a map but it hasn't been moved yet. He also faxed Ed info regarding the handicapped parking signs at the dock area. The center line painting (needed under RR bridge) is contracted out once a year - expect in August. Stan reported that Chris Hauge sent him a copy of Kayaker Etiquette which he hands out to his clients. A citizen complained about the speed at which the early morning newspaper delivery men fly through the village. Stan will look into it.

Maintenance: Sandy reported that the parks were in great shape for Memorial Day, buoys are ready to be put in, Rec. Dept is collecting garbage in the park, one porta potty added. The fountain at the Lewis B. Memorial Triangle is not working properly. The fountain at Bayview Park has not been turned on yet. John noted that the town did a great job of filling the huge holes in Madeira park. He also noted that we are losing fill under the cement slab near the gazebo and it is in need of repair fairly soon. With the overuse of the parks in early June due to year-end school excursions, Sandy will request that the town pick up trash every day. Stan is meeting with Rene Arbour regarding seating in the Bayview gazebo. Comfortable and low seats were requested. Stan asked if anyone knew if the Fire Department had any plans for the derelict van that sits in the parking lot. Stan will call Unk about it. Public Works has filled in the hole around the grate under the RR bridge. Trash receptacles have been ordered and the town will give us $1000 toward them. Sidewalks have been put off by the town until the end of June. Side street repaving of Linden Point, Long Point, Buena Vista and Three Elms is put off until fall though drainage problems will be address earlier. Addressing the drainage problem at 309 Thimble Island Road is on hold because the drainage has to go into the swamp across the street and a permit has to be issued by DEP. The State has said they will take care of it. Street signs are ordered and should arrive within a month. Cost is $4490 with the town covering $2000. Dottie, Sandra, Nina, Peter and Jake will review placement of the street signs on the green. Stan will check with Jay Brown regarding the reseeding of the strip at 200 Thimble Islands Road. Peter Brainerd got a call from the State DEP as a result of an anonymous letter accusing him and the Association of illegal bulldozing of sand below the high tide level. Peter referred them to the Town as the letter relates to the town’s annual maintenance of their beaches. Sandra noted the terrific job the PF kids did cleaning up the area from the beach to the dock.

Administration: Nina reported that an updated list of board members has been sent to Ferguson & McGuire regarding board liability insurance. Another list should be sent after the election. Regarding the election, legal notices have been placed, moderator engaged, president’s letter mailed, all bios of board candidates have been received and meetings are filed with the Town Clerk at Town Hall. Anyone needing an absentee ballot can pick up an application at the library or through Nina.

Old Business: Dottie reported that Andy DaRos will mount the Ramshaw Memorial plaque and place the rock next week. Cost will end up being around $435 with donations to date $225.

New Business:

At 8:25 pm a motion was made/seconded and unanimously approved to adjourn the meeting.

Respectfully submitted,

Nina N. Smith
