Day Moore & Kelly Clark: June 26 through July 21

Saltwater Dialogue is a show featuring Day Moore and Kelly Clark. Two artists and friends, who are bound by tides and brushstrokes—drawn to the ocean’s vast beauty. While they approach the subject from different perspectives, they share a mutual passion for water in all its forms—fluid, fleeting, and infinite. This shared journey—rooted in reverence and wonder—has long called them to a joint show.

Day Moore is a multidisciplinary artist, designer, environmentalist, and entrepreneur who is deeply rooted in a lifelong connection to the ocean, which has fueled both her artistic practice and environmental advocacy since the age of 11. Holding a BFA from Rhode Island College, her diverse career includes work in paint restoration for Sotheby’s, large-scale theatrical painting, small business consulting, and entrepreneurship. Her art bridges fine art and activism—what she calls "artivism"—to raise awareness of environmental issues. Her latest work features top-down views of rivers, estuaries, and coastlines, painted in watercolor inks to emphasize water's fragility and movement while omitting surrounding landscapes to center viewers’ attention on the water itself. She is an active member of the Silvermine Guild of Artists, Connecticut Women Artists, and various collectives, and has collaborated with organizations such as the United Nations and the University for Peace in Costa Rica on initiatives supporting women, art, and sustainability.

Kelly Clark is a painter and designer. She earned her BFA in Graphic Design from Pratt Institute in 2001. The subject of her work has become her passion for being in the water. It seems like a natural human tendency, no matter what age we are—to play when we are in water. Her paintings aim to capture the calming peace and weightless grace felt—as well as the beautiful and hypnotic abstract shapes that light and water create. Kelly lives on the Connecticut shoreline with her husband and two daughters. She works as a graphic designer and paints in her home studio in Guilford.
